Yn Chruinnaght Celtic Gathering is fast approaching!
Happening from Monday 21st – Sunday 27th July 2025, the festival is among the cultural highlights that bring our living landscape and unique Manx culture to life.
Held in Peel, with fringe events happening in Douglas and other areas of the island, this much-loved festival celebrates the deep-rooted links between the Isle of Man and the wider Celtic world, particularly Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Cornwall and Brittany. You can expect live traditional music performances, dancing, workshops, concerts and more.
First established in the 1970s to revive Manx cultural traditions, Yn Chruinnaght has grown into a vibrant expression of Celtic identity, while remaining firmly grounded in its grass roots of local community, heritage and place.
What emerges is a shared culture that has been shaped by land and sea - songs born of coastlines, dances inspired by weather, wonder and working life. In the context of a Biosphere, where people and nature are understood as part of the same system, the celebration of language, music, craft and custom is a key part of our identity and sense of place.
As a proud Biosphere Partner, Yn Chruinnaght champions sustainability in its careful choices when organising the event. Festival organisers are conscious of utilising local food and drink where possible, considering the most sustainable travel options for performers, and continuing efforts to reduce waste and eliminate single-use plastic at festival events.
In celebrating our Celtic connections, Yn Chruinnaght Celtic Gathering strengthens the Island’s identity and serves as a reminder that culture, like nature, must be nurtured, protected and celebrated.
