    A bit about us...

    The UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man Youth Network met for the first time in July 2024 as a space for people aged 18-35 to come together, support and inspire one another to continue working towards a more sustainable Isle of Man.

  • Youth Representative - Mariella

    Mariella Craig was appointed Youth Representative alongside Rachel in November 2024 with the mission to improve youth engagement.

  • Youth Representative - Alice

    Alice is a Trainee Advocate, and keen gardener, with a passion for growing food sustainably and nurturing wildlife, inspired by her upbringing on a plant nursery and family farm. Alice is a volunteer at the Ayres Nature Reserve and the Manx Bat Group. Her enthusiasm for conservation drives her commitment to engaging young people in hands-on learning about our island’s nature and history, she is eager to share her love for gardening and wildlife to inspire the next generation.

  • Youth Representative - Brandon

    Brandon is a Senior Investments Operations Administrator for IFGL. His passion is for history, heritage and culture, and he has a degree in History and Heritage, which he studied on the Isle of Man. You'll often find him exploring the glens or heritage sites of the island. He is truly passionate about the island, and hopes to help ensure it remains beautiful for future generations to come.

  • Youth Ambassador - Rachel

    Rachel Smith was Isle of Man Biosphere Youth Representative from October 2023 - 2025. She is still very much involved in youth advocacy and is now representing young people across the UK and Isle of Man Biospheres on a global stage, as she was appointed as the UK MAB Youth Focal point.
