Cooish Vooar is Coming!

Taking place from Friday 25 September to Tuesday 29 September, the annual Manx language festival is set to be even bigger this year as part of Blein ny Gaelgey (Year of Manx Language). 

Over the five days, the festival will bring together people from across the Island and beyond to celebrate the Manx language through a vibrant programme of concerts, workshops, cultural events, talks and family-friendly activities.  

Whether you're hearing Manx for the first time, learning a few words, or already a fluent speaker, there will be opportunities for everyone to get involved. 

The festival aims to showcase the growing strength and visibility of the Manx language while highlighting its importance as a living part of the Island's cultural heritage.  

From music and storytelling to social gatherings and interactive experiences, Cooish Vooar offers a welcoming opportunity to explore the language and connect with Manx culture in a fun and engaging way. 

As an Island UNESCO Biosphere, the Isle of Man recognises the value of cultural heritage alongside our natural environment. The Manx language is a unique part of the Island's identity, helping to strengthen a sense of place and connection to our community.
