2018 Year of Our Island - special place to live and work

The ‘Year of Our Island’ brings together existing and new events and activities to help more people understand what makes the Isle of Man so special and encourage people to explore more, do more, get involved more, and share more.

The Isle of Man is a special place for people and nature and 2018 is a year to celebrate our Island and our connection to it.

What is it?    This is a year to make the most of our beautiful Island; celebrating the vast amount of things we have to see, do explore and take part in. It is about celebrating our UNESCO Biosphere status through a range of events, activities, trails and celebrations.

When can I find out more?  We'll be announcing more about our year shortly. In the meantime, sign up to receive emails at www.ourisland.im and we'll let you know more about our special year.

How can I get involved?  There will be plenty of opportunities for people to get involved; to run a project or event of their own, with or without our support, to volunteer some time on development projects or just get out and see more, do more, explore more!

The year will begin with a series of dark skies events from 19 January encouraging everyone to step outside and appreciate the visibility of the night sky wherever they are.
