30 Days Wild with The Wildlife Trusts

The Manx Wildlife Trust's Marketing and Membership Manager, Graham Makepeace-Warne, writes about the 30 Days Wild initiative for June.

Can you do something wild every day throughout June? That's 30 simple, fun and exciting Random Acts of Wildness. The Manx Wildlife Trust are working with The Wildlife Trusts in the UK to deliver 30 Days Wild again this June. What is a Random Act of Wildness? A Random Act of Wildness is anything that you can do in an average working day to bring a little nature into your life. They can take a few seconds, a few minutes, or if you lose yourself completely, a few hours! We've got 101 ideas ready for you - but you can make up your own, too!

30 Days Wild is a campaign to promote the benefits of being outdoors, getting active and engaging with nature. There is now strong scientific evidence that being out in nature and engaging with wildlife has many benefits for people such as wellbeing including mental and physical health. So why not get involved and see what a difference Manx nature can make for you?

We're providing a free pack of goodies to individuals, schools and businesses to help them plan their wild month, plus lots of ideas to inspire people to stay wild all throughout June (and beyond!). Ideas include a range of outdoor activities from meditating in the wild to scattering seed bombs. But don't worry if the weather puts you off! There's plenty of indoor activities too like watching a wild webcam or Googling wild facts.

To get your free 30 Days Wild pack, which includes a wallchart, a poster, an interactive booklet and some stickers to help you go wild, just go to www.wildlifetrusts.org.uk/30dayswild and sign up. You can also make up your own Random Acts of Wildness and do one every day. Share them with us using #30DaysWild, along with thousands of other people taking part.
