The 25th Inter-Island Environment Meeting (IIEM25) will be held in the Isle of Man this September, marking the first time it has taken place outside the Channel Islands.
Manx Wildlife Trust are facilitating the event in partnership with Biosphere Isle of Man, the Isle of Man Government, and a number of local environmental and community organisations. Visit Isle of Man is the main sponsor for the event.
Running from 17th to 19th September 2025 at the Villa Marina, IIEM25 will bring together conservationists, environmental professionals, and sustainability-focused organisations from the UK Crown Dependencies, British Islands, and Ireland.
The theme for this year, “Collaboration for Greater Impact,” reflects the growing need for collective action to address biodiversity loss and climate change.
The first two days will feature presentations and Q&A sessions on environmental work from across the islands, followed by field trips showcasing the Isle of Man’s diverse habitats and nature-based initiatives. A special 25th anniversary celebration will be hosted on Wednesday evening at Government House, by His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor, Sir John Lorimer, and Lady Lorimer.
The final day will shift focus to the power of cross-sector partnerships. Environmental and business leaders will explore how collaboration can advance sustainability goals and support practical solutions. Keynote speakers include Jonathan Andrews of Remarkable Partnerships and representatives from businesses driving the green agenda within the Crown Dependencies.
The final day will also feature a ‘Dragon’s Den’-style session, where environmental organisations can pitch ideas to potential business partners, with a seed fund available for selected projects.
This exciting event highlights the importance of integrated approaches through collaboration and partnership. Tickets are available to buy, with the option to attend the whole event or to select days.
