Biosphere Partner Shortlisted for Snack Award

Biosphere Partner PopCornaa has been shortlisted for a prestigious UK food industry award, recognising the creativity and innovation of the Island's growing food and drink sector. 

The gourmet popcorn producer, founded by Emily Tse in 2023, has been named a finalist in the Plant Based Snacking category at the 2026 UK Quality Food & Drink Awards for its sweet and spicy flavour, Sriracha Soul. 

The category recognises plant-based snacks designed for between-meal consumption, with entries judged on taste, texture, flavour, aroma, ingredients, provenance, appearance, packaging, value for money and innovation. Sriracha Soul is one of just four products shortlisted. 

PopCornaa specialises in Asian-inspired gourmet popcorn, offering a range of sweet, savoury and umami flavours. Alongside Sriracha Soul, its collection includes Seaweed, Wasabi & Soy, Asian Mango, and Lychee & Strawberry. Several products are described as gluten-free and are made without artificial colourings, flavourings or preservatives. 

Emily said the recognition was particularly meaningful as the recipe has been developed and refined over several years, with work on the flavour beginning in 2021. 

Since launching, PopCornaa has become a familiar name within the Island's food community, exhibiting at the Royal Manx Show as part of showcases celebrating local food and drink producers. Products are stocked by local retailers including Woodbourne Deli in Douglas, helping to bring distinctive Manx-made products to a wider audience. 

Sriracha Soul is currently available from The Good Health Store in Port Erin, through the PopCornaa website and via Amazon Prime. 

Winners of the 2026 UK Quality Food & Drink Awards will be announced later this year.
