Utmost International Isle of Man Limited, trading as Utmost Wealth Solutions, is an Isle of Man based life assurance company with over 30 years of history on the Island and employing approximately 600 people in the Island.
Utmost have introduced a number of initiatives at their Onchan-based office to protect our natural resources, including fitting automatic lights, offering reusable water bottles and mugs to staff and operating a cycle to work scheme as part of their group sustainability programme. In 2021 the Utmost Group developed a sustainability strategy along with a Sustainability Working Group which has Isle of Man representation. The Isle of Man group focuses on how positive changes can be made and how they can encourage staff participation. Their sustainability strategy is underpinned by policies and targets across the group.
The Utmost Community Committee looks at the wider Manx community alongside their internal community, which encourages participation and fundraising with local projects and charities, concentrating their fundraising efforts for 2022 on Forget Me Not, The Foodbank and Rebecca House, whilst also participating in one-off events such as the Manx Breast Cancer Support Group pink day, Macmillan coffee morning and other various charity initiatives. Colleagues are also encouraged to participate in local team events, to help raise money within the Manx community. As well as sponsoring the event, Utmost colleagues took part in The Children’s Centre’s Race the Sun and have also enjoyed taking part in Granite Mann, the Syd Quirk half marathon, the Manx 3 Peaks challenge, charity golf days, Rounders tournament and the Viking longboats.
The Utmost Group is carbon neutral in its operations through carbon offsetting and aims to reduce its initial carbon output. As part of this, they aim to plant trees on the Island to provide wildlife habitats, support biodiversity and enhance the natural landscape. Utmost encourage their employees to engage in community and charity projects by giving them paid volunteering leave each year. As well as planting trees, this year alone they volunteered at the Children’s Centre working on their “Wild Spaces” project, revamping enclosures at the Wildlife Park and volunteering at the Foodbank and Isle of Man Hospice, while becoming an ‘Honour Partner’ with Isle of Pride.
in August 2023, Utmost entered into a two-year corporate partnership with Manx Wildlife Trust and has sponsored its local nature reserve, MWT Onchan Community Wetlands.
Utmost International Isle of Man Limited is a longstanding sponsor of the Isle of Man Swimming Association and more recently, is the sponsor of the Isle of Man Junior Cycling Team. Utmost has, for a number of years, been the sponsor of the Isle of Man Newspapers Awards for Excellence which highlights successes within the Manx community.
