Kerroo Brewing Co, a microbrewery in Port Erin, has transformed a previously unused Commissioners’ building into a thriving community hub that hosts public and private events.

By brewing and serving beer on-site using a 1000L system, Kerroo supports a sustainable local economy while collaborating with other Manx breweries to offer guest beers. Their fully recyclable aluminium cans ensure minimal environmental impact while providing quality products to other Manx businesses.

The brewery plans to apply for the Business Emissions Saving Scheme to insulate its building and reduce its energy footprint. Spent brewing grain is collected by a local farmer to feed cattle, reducing waste while enhancing livestock feed. Both the brewery and taproom generate very little waste, with all glass and cans recycled locally. Guest food traders also use plastic-free packaging.

Kerroo Brewing Co actively engages with the local community and promotes cultural heritage. They collaborate with the Erin Arts Centre to host events, support the Isle of Man Symphony Orchestra through sponsorship, and showcase local musicians with live performances. For International Women’s Day 2025, they will partner with local businesses to create limited-edition beers brewed with Manx adjuncts such as salt and spices.

The brewery’s beer labels, designed by local artists, feature Manx mythology, heritage, and the island’s natural beauty. Plans to attend the IFE 2025 Expo and SIBA BeerX will further showcase their beers made with locally sourced ingredients, including foraged seaweed, Manx-grown fruit, and Isle of Man Salt Co products.
