The Manx Viking Project is dedicated to minimising environmental impact, much like ancient communities did centuries ago. 99% of the build will use wind fallen or sustainable timber and recycled materials.
Renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power, will support the site, along with composting toilets and renewable fuels like coppiced willow.
As a charity, the project's economic contributions are limited, but it aims to enhance the Isle of Man’s visibility. During the construction, traditional skills will be shared, culminating in a Viking Hall to host cultural events celebrating Manx history.
The Manx Viking Project promotes sustainable tourism, encouraging eco-friendly practices like waste reduction and habitat preservation. It also aims to inspire community engagement through various events and programs, inviting residents to participate in the construction, fostering a shared sense of accomplishment and unity.
