Honey Mann is a Ballaugh, Isle of Man, honey producer.
The business is a member of the Isle of Man Beekeepers’ Association and proudly promotes the Isle of Man’s Vaorroa disease-free status.
Honey Mann has 30 hives and any expansion will be on a separate site so other pollinators are not out-competed.
All Honey Mann’s current hives are close to natural water sources. Equipment is wooden, and natural woodchip is used around the hives. Hives are not treated with pharmaceutical products. The business doesn’t use single-use plastics.
In the three-acre field housing the main apiary, tree planting is being carried out to assist pollinators in general and create habitats. No pesticides or herbicides are used.
Honey Mann’s products are pure, and not mixed with imported honey or syrups, so they have a low carbon footprint. The products are sold at delis and shops Island wide in support of the local economy.
Honey Mann’s Facebook and Instagram posts are educational to those wishing to learn more about the skills and challenges of beekeeping and honey production
