DQ Advocates are committed to waste reduction and have implemented an action plan to actively support this goal, through recycling programmes, responsible procurement practices for goods/services and through reusing and repurposing. They are also looking at implementing measures to record energy usage and are working to become carbon neutral.

As part of their action plan, DQ are taking steps to actively protect and preserve local species and ecosystems, through habitat restoration work and efforts to reduce their environmental footprint.

They actively support and collaborate with the community and are working to ensure that everything they do benefits the community, for example using local suppliers and service providers and choosing to support local when considering gifts for employees and clients.

DQ sponsor a number of local initiatives including Douglas Coral Union, and they are in the process of supporting The Manx Wildlife Trust through sponsorship.

DQ have implemented a plan of regular training for staff on environmental considerations. They also run an annual ‘make a difference day’ on the Island and support various environmental charities throughout the year.

Through charity work, sponsorships and their make a difference day, DQ try to engage with the local community wherever possible. As part of their action plan going forward they are looking at rolling out training to raise awareness in the wider community.
