Business Isle of Man follows the Department for Enterprise’s environmental policy and embeds sustainability across its operations. Single-use plastics and lamination are avoided, event materials such as banners and lanyards are reused, and printed brochures use recycled or recyclable paper. Printing is actively reduced by questioning necessity and promoting digital alternatives.

Sustainable economic development is encouraged through initiatives like the Energy & Cleantech Forum, which supports green innovation. Local food and drink businesses are promoted to reduce food miles and champion Manx producers. Renewable energy training is funded through Construction Isle of Man, helping the sector transition to greener technologies. Businesses are supported on their decarbonisation journey through schemes such as the Business Emissions Saving Scheme and Business Consultancy Scheme. Campaigns like Sustainable September and the sustainability pillar in the Engineering & Manufacturing Strategy reinforce long-term environmental goals.

Cultural heritage is celebrated through support for events including Year of Manx Language, Yn Chruinnaght Celtic Gathering, Go Wild, and Oie Voaldyn via the Domestic Event Fund. Partnerships with venues, musicians, and theatre groups through the Winter Event Scheme promote cultural vibrancy, while Food & Drink initiatives uphold traditional Manx culinary heritage.

The organisation works closely with the Net Zero team to advance shared environmental goals. Community engagement is fostered through “Shop Local” campaigns such as Meet Your Street and Love Manx Christmas, alongside support for events like Christmas lights switch-ons, Peel Carnival, and Isle Settle festivals. Collaboration with trader groups and local authorities strengthens economic resilience, and the Local Economy Strategy aims to create vibrancy across towns and villages.
