Culture Vannin will soon reveal the 30 projects selected for Treisht26, a major programme forming part of Blein ny Gaelgey – the Year of the Manx Language 2026.
Following an open call earlier this year, more than 80 applications were received from individuals, businesses and community groups. The chosen projects will receive funding and support to bring creative ideas to life, each offering imaginative ways for people of all ages to connect with the Manx language.
Selected projects include:
- Manx-language murals in public spaces
- Music workshops in nurseries and schools
- New classroom resources
- A podcast for young people
- Reinterpretations of traditional Manx songs
- Pop song translations into Manx
- Online lessons for new communities
- Stickers and stamps promoting Manx words and phrases
From music and art to education and digital resources, Treisht26 reflects the creativity and enthusiasm of those who use the language and those discovering it for the first time.
Celebrating and strengthening the Manx language aligns closely with Biosphere Isle of Man’s values of culture, community and sustainability. By supporting projects that connect people with heritage and identity, Treisht26 helps ensure the language remains a living part of island life while sharing its richness internationally.
Further project details and event announcements will be shared throughout 2026.
