Easter Art Exhibition Celebrated Biosphere

The annual Isle of Man Art Society Easter Exhibition returned to the Villa Marina Arcade at the start of the month, showcasing the beauty of our Biosphere.

The annual Isle of Man Art Society Easter Exhibition returned to the Villa Marina Arcade at the start of the month, welcoming the public from Friday 3rd – Monday 6th April.

The Isle of Man Art Society are valued Biosphere Partners, and the exhibition provides a vibrant and accessible platform for local artists to showcase their work. This year’s theme drew inspiration from the Island’s Biosphere status, and Blein ny Gaelgey – Year of the Manx Language.

These influences were reflected in a wonderfully diverse range of pieces celebrating the Isle of Man’s unique cultural identity and wildlife, alongside the natural beauty of its landscapes and surrounding seas.

The exhibition highlighted how our environment, language and culture continue to shape and inspire artistic expression, with a vast array of works across mediums ranging from paintings and lino prints to sculptures and ceramics.

A special preview evening was hosted on Thursday 2nd April by event sponsors and fellow Biosphere Partners Ramsey Crookall, offering invited guests an early opportunity to experience the exhibition and support the local arts community.

Visitors throughout the weekend enjoyed a raffle featuring a variety of prizes, including a contribution from the Isle of Man Post Office, and original works generously donated by participating artists.

Bringing together artists, residents and visitors in a shared appreciation of creativity, heritage and place, the exhibition reflected the strong connections between culture, community and environment that sit at the heart of our Biosphere Island.
