The Welbeck Hotel and Restaurant is situated on Mona Drive, off Central Promenade in Douglas.
The hotel endeavours to recycle as much as possible throughout the building in order to protect our natural resources, as well as turning off the heating in rooms that are not in use in a bid to save on energy and carbon consumption.
The Welbeck helps to develop our economy in a sustainable way. A long standing contributor to the visitor economy, the business endeavours to use as much local produce as possible in its day to day service, supporting the meat, bread, dairy, vegetable, seafood and drinks sectors, to name a few.
It also runs restaurant special offers such as discounts for diners to see shows at the Gaiety Theatre, encouraging customers to attend local productions. Manx production companies such as Taylorian, Douglas Choral Union and Manx Operatics take advantage of sponsorship in the form of generous rates to accommodate visiting directors and cast, so the business supports the local economy and cultural scene.
The Welbeck Hotel is a Refill Station, offering free tap water refills to guests and people passing by, reducing single use plastic consumption in our Biosphere and making a positive environmental impact. It is proud to be a member of Manx Whale and Dolphin Watch and has purchased the recycling bin for Beach Buddies at the bottom of Mona Drive.
Over the years, the owners have donated many prizes to a wide range of fundraising charities, to help the community and they assist in the promotion of beach cleaning events, participating when possible.
