Happy Explorer aims to get people outdoors into nature to reconnect with it in new ways.
Adventures include glass-bottom kayaking, group paddle boarding, wildlife watching, hiking, wild swimming, cold water therapy and mindfulness.
Happy Explorer use a social enterprise model structure for their business, supporting the economy in a sustainable way.
Happy Explorer monitor wildlife and report sightings to Manx Wildlife Trust, Manx Whale and Dolphin Watch and DEFA fisheries for a number of initiatives. They often plant native bulbs on trips and collect litter from remote places, ensuring a positive environmental impact is made. 720 tress have been planted to date in a bid to mitigate the effects of emissions from clients driving to events.
Happy Explorer respectfully visit culturally significant and ancient heritage sites and promote the same to visitors and residents alike. Some trips involve live music performances in the wild, often featuring native songs and utilising Manx Gaelic.
Clients that pay full price can help to fund free places for others on every trip. Sometimes a pay it forward gift allows others who would not have the means, to join on to trips for no cost.
Happy Explorer also work with the charity Heroes on the Water and provide subsidised help running events for them. They are also working with Manx Care to provide Forest and Wilderness wellbeing sessions for staff and patients.
