Create Your Shakes are a local milkshake establishment also providing a wide range of hot food.
In a bid to protect our natural resources, Create Your Shakes use biodegradable packaging for their take away offerings and hope to soon produce their own ice cream which will reduce the use of plastic consumption through the re-use of containers. They also recycle all materials they can and offer edible drinking straws as an option.
The company sends its coffee grounds to a local gardener and many tubs are sent to nurseries, builders etc. that can repurpose them, and their vegetable oil is collected and reused by the local farming industry. They have also recently changed their cooking equipment in a bid to reduce energy.
Create Your Shakes employ local staff, training them to develop their confidence and skills and developing our economy in a sustainable way through keeping young people in the Island. The company also use as many locally sourced ingredients as possible and use Manx milk and cream for their shakes.
Create Your Shakes participate in local events like the Tynwald Day Fayre and Food and Drink Festival, and they promote these events and their use of local ingredients through their social media channels.
Create Your Shakes are community minded and often offer free workshops such as chocolate making, or pancakes over the Christmas period. They were one of the first businesses on Island to offer a pay it forward scheme in the café and they offered treats to various charities & front line workers free of charge throughout the Covid 19 pandemic.
