Blue Island Guys are a Marketing research and consultancy business who take a serious approach to their sustainable practices.

The company only buys recycled paper and they recycle all of the waste they produce, where possible. They do not buy unnecessary plastic, such as wallets, water bottles, or the traditional plastic promotional materials commonly associated with Marketing businesses.

Blue Island Guys encourage their clients to invest in sustainable, practical solutions, such as;
1. Helping a client switch from plastic polystyrene packaging to recycled corrugated cardboard.
2. A literature recycling project to remove and recycle old and out of date literature from clients, rather than throwing it away.
3. Tree planting initiatives to offset carbon.

Blue Island Guys (BIG) have invested in a company bicycle, rather than a company car. Colleagues can choose to work from home (or wherever is convenient) all of the time - using shared work spaces where face to face meetings are necessary. This reduces their carbon footprint, as there are no excess emissions from an additional office/building.

BIG try to use local expertise wherever possible. This keeps spending on-Island, and reduces unnecessary travel. As individuals on the Island, they have supported the islands culture and promoted local initiatives, such as attending the Wicker Making Workshop at the Villa Marina.

Blue Island Guys have written a children's book to promote recycling, and have been liaising with the Children's Library and a local publisher with a view to have this printed.

Blue Island Guys are in contact with the Isle of Man Woodland Trust as they wish to be carbon net zero. They have calculated their carbon emissions, and would like to plant trees to compensate for these. For every project worked, a number of trees will be planted. Staff also take time out to engage in litter picks, and are part of PlasticBusters.

Staff are encouraged to take time out of the working week to support the local community in a way which interests them. One member is actively involved with volunteering for Sailing for the Disabled. The company have also been in contact with Manx Wild Bird Aid to help local wildlife and volunteer with the charity.
