Albion Knitting Company Isle of Man relocated to the Isle of Man in 2024. Holding GOTS and RWS certifications, the company ensures its operations meet the highest environmental and ethical standards - from organic fibre sourcing and responsible chemical use to fair labour practices and waste management. Solar panels are being installed at Barrule House to supply renewable energy, and water treatment and chemical restrictions help protect natural waterways. Waste is minimised through precise digital knitting and recycling of packaging and offcuts, while responsibly sourced wool supports biodiversity and animal welfare.

Albion has invested over £2.7 million in facilities and equipment, engaging Manx contractors and creating a hub for ethical manufacturing. The company employs 58 people, combining international expertise with local talent, and offers career pathways for graduates in design and production. Growth is guided by values of craftsmanship, longevity, and social responsibility.

Cultural heritage is central to the company’s identity. Its Opening Ceremony featured Manx music and blessings, and a TT capsule collection showcased local creativity to global audiences. Live demonstrations and ongoing sponsorships celebrate and share Manx culture.
Albion Knitting aims to create a positive environmental impact through renewable energy, efficient machinery, and support for global sustainability programmes. It is also exploring circular solutions such as repurposing yarn waste.

Community involvement includes partnerships with UCM, participation in local events, and collaboration with organisations like Culture Vannin and the Department for Enterprise. Through these efforts, Albion Knitting Company Isle of Man contributes meaningfully to the Island’s environment, economy, and cultural life.
