The winners of the Innovation Challenge 2025 were announced on Thursday 26th June at The Comis Hotel.
The 2025 Challenge, delivered by the Department for Enterprise’s Executive Agencies - led by Digital Isle of Man, in collaboration with Business Isle of Man, and Finance Isle of Man - encourages innovation for sustainability, with awards in Cleantech, FinTech, and Data & AI. The awards also include a dedicated Biosphere Award in recognition of innovation which contributes to our Biosphere status, this year awarded in association with the UK National Commission to UNESCO.
This year's competition saw 14 outstanding finalists across key challenge areas, all designed to deliver real-world impact for our Island, to be scaled up for the global market – the Isle of Man acting as a living laboratory for tech innovation. The finalists represented a diverse international cohort, selected from over 100 registrations across more than 20 countries.
This year’s worthy winners are:
- Biosphere – Big Bower. Helping to turn product ideas into a sustainable reality by connecting creators with manufacturers. Their AI-driven platform takes ideas, such as a menopause health brand built by a pharmacist, and develops production-ready specifications.
- Cleantech – Lnk Technologies. A platform that helps buildings reduce energy use, carry out predictive maintenance, and reward sustainable behaviour.
- FinTech – Binderr. Simplifying compliance processes for financial institutions, offering a platform to manage KYC/KYB checks and connect with verified service providers through a commission-based marketplace model.
- Data & AI – Tandem. Reimagining how children use technology through a personalised reading and storytelling app. Encouraging children to create content that reflects their interests and cultural identity, while helping parents track their child’s development.
These innovations reflect the core values of Biosphere and we look forward to seeing these ideas evolve and positively shape our shared future.
A fresh perspective for the 2026 Innovation Challenge was also announced at the finale, with the launch of a new Health and Social Care category developed in partnership with the Isle of Man Department of Health and Social Care. The award will encourage innovation to improve outcomes for patients, support healthcare professionals, and make efficiencies in the healthcare system.
