With Love & Hugs is a tea and gift shop based in Port Erin serving Manx blended tea and coffee, homemade treats and afternoon teas using Manx produce. The products and artwork for sale within the gift shop are all produced locally. The passion With Love & Hugs’ owners have for a sustainable lifestyle and our Island is expressed with their staff and their customers in a positive way.
The local producers With Love & Hugs use are carefully selected and, where possible, ensure they hold and follow similar values with regards to environmental and sustainability issues. The waste that With Love & Hugs produce is largely recycled and customers are encouraged to use their own reusable cups to reduce waste. Any spent coffee grounds are either re-used or offered, free of charge, for gardening use. Other materials are also re-used where possible or offered to others to further reduce waste and none of their products are packaged, apart from the use of recycles paper bags.
As a tea shop, With Love & Hugs already acts as a hub within the community. They are currently in the process of teaming up with Culture Vannin to help make the business a centre of excellence for Manx culture. This will also enable them to hold more community events.
The Manx language is already included on their menus, images of the Island are show on a monitor, which also includes Manx phrases. With Love & Hugs intends to offer Manx language lessons and well as cultural information sessions. Workshops will also be held which will teach customers different skills and encourage them to create in a sustainable way.
As well as partnering with Culture Vannin, With Love & Hugs is also in the process of joining Port Erin Traders Association so that they can become more involved with local events already held.
