Döhle Yachts has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to environmental responsibility through the development of its bespoke Maritime Compliance software. Designed in-house, this platform has eliminated the need for tens of thousands of printed documents annually by digitising communication with its global fleet, transforming a traditionally paper-heavy industry into a paperless service. The company also delivers pollution prevention and environmental protection services to over 40 large and passenger yachts, promoting environmentally efficient yachting through its technical support. Their Isle of Man headquarters at Fort Anne has undergone sustainability-focused upgrades, including the installation of LED lighting and energy-efficient hand dryers.

Employing 15 staff on the Isle of Man, and more than 50 globally, across disciplines such as yacht finance, software development, crew employment, technical, recruitment, operations and compliance, Döhle Yachts plays an active role in the sustainable development of the local economy. The company funds professional memberships, supports employees in achieving qualifications, and provides staff with other CPD initiatives. All employees are engaged in decisions around the selection of which UN Sustainable Development Goals the company focusses on, with current areas including health, education, equality, and climate action.

A cadetship programme with a UK-based partner has already supported seven Isle of Man and UK cadets on their journey towards deck and engineering qualifications. Döhle Yachts has also received a bronze award from the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme.

Cultural heritage is championed through staff engagement with Manx National Heritage events, visits to historically significant ships like the Star of India, and participation in local maritime history talks. The company hosts clients during the TT, ensuring they experience this unique aspect of Manx culture.

Döhle Yachts ensures all business travel is carbon offset through projects which contribute to renewable energy and emissions reduction across six countries. The company also supports several local, national, and international charities.

The company actively engages with the Isle of Man community through events like the Maritime Careers Expo, ongoing fundraising, volunteering, and beach cleans. Döhle Yachts sponsored Manx marine scientist Rowan Henthorn and supported the wider “eXXpedition” crew as they journeyed through the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, to implement solutions for marine plastic pollution.

They are proud to be based on the Isle of Man and regularly showcase the island’s natural beauty to visiting business partners, and colleagues from other locations.”
