BioCycle Innovations (IOM) Ltd specialise in the manufacture of plastic-free tree shelters for planting purposes.
The company is a joint venture and business collaboration between BioCycle Innovations Ltd and BioCycle Palmer, LLC.
Tree shelters are used when planting new saplings as an effective means of establishing young trees, providing protection from grazing mammals and enhancing tree growth. BioCycle Innovations identified an irony between tree planting to combat climate change and the use of single-use plastic shelters for same, and so their product was born.
BioCycle Innovations help to protect our natural resources as they manufacture plastic-free and entirely biodegradable tree shelters, thus helping to combat some of the issues we face in the climate, biodiversity and single-use plastic crisis. The shelters are made from natural, sustainable and biodegradable materials which will not pollute the natural environment or be harmfully consumed by wildlife.
BioCycle Innovations hope to see more tree planting groups making use of the environmentally friendly alternative when they do community planting initiatives in the Island.
Director and local Manx man Will Halsall is keen to see the Island embrace the shelters in their efforts to plant more trees and he has been out in the field with the Forestry Team at DEFA who have already put the shelters to use in parts of the Island.
