Appleby Isle of Man is an offshore law firm, and the only offshore law firm with an Isle of Man office.
Appleby has introduced a number of initiatives in its office to protect our natural resources, has introduced recycling bins on each floor and removed personal desk bins, encouraging employees to actively recycle milk cartons, cans, cardboard, paper and plastics. It also offers flexible working for the majority of staff to reduce the number of travel emissions.
To reduce the use of single use plastic and packaging, Appleby has gifted each of their employees with canvas shopping bags, reusable water bottles and coffee cups and it encourages employees to bring in their own mugs in to the office. Appleby is also in the process of exploring its supply chain and whether this could be more sustainable.
The Appleby team strives to make its environmental impact positive and has taken part in two sessions of tree planting with the Isle of Man Woodland Trust, as well as supporting environmental charities, with memberships to Manx Wildlife Trust and Isle of Man Woodland Trust.
Appleby recently formed a CSR committee, which is run by representatives from each of its departments, to discuss and decide on how best it can support the local community and further reduce its environmental impact.
